Second, please welcome Kyle, Eric and Mim to Microwaved full time. Kyle is joining in on guitar (7 string baby)! Eric played his first show with Microwaved at Local's not to long ago. Eric will be helping me with programming, synths and percussion. You all know Mim, she's been a secret weapon on the team for a little bit but I have made her an official member as my lyricist and vocalist going forward! Microwaved Announces 'Day of the Woman 2028': An Industrial & Dark Alternative Collective Project Highlighting Female Voices

DES MOINES, IA — Electro-industrial act Microwaved (founded by Gabe Wilkinson) has officially announced a massive collaborative project titled Day of the Woman 2028, set for release on January 1, 2028. 

Inspired by streaming statistics revealing a remarkably high female listenership—nearly 35% (source Spotify for artist app) worldwide across industrial metal, goth, and dark rock genres—and a concept originally proposed by vocalist Mim Nissen, the album is designed to center completely on women’s perspectives, art, and stories.

For the project, Wilkinson will provide a foundational original track to a diverse group of international female artists, giving them full creative control to rework, rearrange, reproduce, or contribute vocals and instrumentation to make the song their own.

A Growing Global Collective

The initiative has already assembled a lineup of 15 artists from across the heavy, electronic, and dark alternative music landscapes:

Production & Call for Collaborators

The album will be co-produced, mixed, and mastered in close collaboration with the participating artists. Craig Drabik (Stabbed by Prongs) will serve as Executive Producer alongside Wilkinson to oversee the production and final assembly of the record.

With a final submission deadline set for October 1, 2027, Microwaved is still actively accepting submissions and volunteers from female vocalists, musicians, and producers who wish to contribute their voice and story to the project before the submission window closes.

"I want this project to be completely about women and women’s voices," says Wilkinson. "Whether an artist wants to completely overhaul the production, add their own guitars, or write their own lyricism, they have total freedom to dig in and make it theirs."

Usually when I write a song I have no idea what the song is going to be about until later, this one hit me right away that it was going to be called "Snake Charmer". Lucky for me Haven swept up the stems I shared with our Collective (there is a small team of us that work together as a collective for collaboration) and turned this into what you hear today. Craig Drabik once again brought his impeccable ear for mixing and mastering to deliver my best single yet with additional remixes by Andy Meyer, Jon Long and Leann Hill!

August Update

NEW MERCH!

Dyanna's Departure!

As we get ready for the show on the 15th of August i am excited to announce we will have a whole bunch of new merch available for purchase!

Also, it's with a heavy heart that I must announce that Dyanna Lauren has had to step down. A scheduling conflict arose and we just couldn't get it to click. With that Dyanna also realized her passions lie in developing a one stop entertainment venue halfway between Chicago and Des Moines! It's a gigantic undertaking and it's going to require more time than she anticipated. I totally understand her decision and wish her all the best. She is going to have the best damn wedding destination out there when she gets it running! Much love to my sister from another mister!

In light of that! The show must go on! But I'm going to keep my new members a secret until August 15th show time! Notice i pluralized the member word. Wink wink nudge nudge.

I will let you know former Smakdab vocalist Alexis will be joining me in Microwaved! She will be singing, writing, and contributing in the process with me. It's super freaking cool to be collaborating with the one person thoughtout my entire career that I trust artistically. She totally understands me, my weird ass brain and my music. I was hoping to have her join me onstage August 15th but she won't quite be ready! So be on the look out for these new members.

YO! So dropping some new cover art coming in hot for my next single with Met3mpsyk6sis! The B-side will be "Resilience ft. Thunder S. Hawk and CAT" some of you may have heard an early mix of "Resilience" on the compilation on the CRL Studios tribute to James Ashley of Sinsect if not you should really run out and grab a copy to help his widow pay for final expenses and such. Any who. I met this pretty cool person in my neck of the woods named Maleah Duncan (click the green to buy their art!). Maleah is a two spirited Cherokee descendent and I thought it would be cool to hire someone who's life experience and knowledge is so different from mine. It paid of with some pretty eye catching art I must say. Expect more announcements soon on a release date on the next single!

Joining us will be local heavy hitters SordiD and my friend from up north Unmanned Audio!

As some of you may or may not know, I help out a friend of mine do a podcast about adult entertainment. All facets of the industry from writers and directors right down to the stars. This year at EXXXOTICA Chicago 2026 I ended up working with Dyanna Lauren as a helper at the Jizz Talking booth (we are www.jizztalking.com ) and Dyanna spilled the beans that she started in the music industry first. She was discovered by Rick James, yeah that Rick James (FUCK YOUR COUCH), and then went on to record her own album and collaborate with other's such as Marilyn Manson and Moby. I showed Dyanna some demos I've been working on and she expressed interest in singing for me. Yeah I was just as shocked as you. So we started talking and working out logistics. Turns out, she and I are two peas in a pod when it comes to our art and music influences. So then I said, I have about 30 demos in some sort of state. She said "Bring it". Then I said, what if I booked a show, would you sing for me? She said "This is gonna be fun". So we will see you all on August 15th for Ms. Dyanna Lauren's return to the stage at Locals Bar & Stage in Des Moines Iowa! Joining us will be the local heavy hitters SordiD to headline this amazing show and my good friend in Unmanned Audio from Clear Lake/Mason City neck of the woods. (Charles Green was the original singer for CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) which then morphed into Smakdab and my career in the music industry.
